My astrological journey has not been a straight road by any means but as I have learned in my studies, it all becomes clear in hindsight.
I studied mathematics in university and then taught high school and university on and off between 1986 and 2012. I enjoyed the challenge of balancing family, children, relationships and work during this time. After a major life change, I moved to life coaching in 2014 and continue this today working with entrepreneurial women in creating their life with balance and fun!
After a suggestion from my youngest, I found a Vancouver based astrology teacher in the fall of 2018 which reignited my passion for the topic. I had previously been fascinated with horoscopes and astronomy when I was a young girl. It was a beautiful “coming home” experience as I studied my own chart.
I definitely felt seen in my chart as I realized that certain planets show me how and why I developed certain skills and interests. For example, my Sun (highlighted in blue below) is in Cancer (I am a Cancer!) in the 3rd house. This could indicate someone who strives to nurture others through the mind and information. I am afterall a teacher :). My Saturn in Aquarius in the 11th house (indicated in magenta) could mean that qualifications and expertise are important to my leadership style within groups. This could be why I spend so much time studying and attaining diplomas in my chosen fields of mathematics and astrology!
I worked through the certification program offered by CAAE (Canadian Association of Astrological Education) and completed it in the summer of 2020. At the same time, my teacher recommended I look at the Faculty of Astrological Studies in the U.K. considered to be the most stringent astrological training in the world.
I have recently completed the Diploma after 4 years of study. My philosophy in coaching and astrological consulting relies primarily on clients gaining awareness through greater understanding of themselves. This may be available with an in-depth study of their natal chart. The chart represents a blueprint of our lives guiding us to perhaps make different and more informed choices in life.
Astrology, for me, represents an amazing amalgamation of numbers, patterns and people. Three areas of fascination for me where I hope my clients feel seen by better understanding their charts.
Einstein said, “The definition of insanity is repeating the same behaviours and expecting a different result.” If we are blinding walking through life with no regard for the effects of our behaviours, we may not have the awareness to make better (more evolved) choices. The aspiration of any astrologer is to empower clients to grow, learn and manifest their highest self.
